Mailing Permits and a Well Kept Secret Go to topics
Create color postcards/
letters/booklets and flyers
US Postal Service's best kept secret is Net Post. This service allows you to upload files to create postcards, letters, booklets and flyers which are automatically mailed to your selected mailing list. The amazing thing for small businesses is that there is no minimum quantity for color printing - allowing the smallest business to look like the "big guys". For example, the price for a two color postcard with postage is 42.1 cents. For information and to sign-up, visit https://www.usps.com/business/get-started.htm.
Business reply
envelopes (or postcards)
Many businesses use Business Reply Envelopes, so that their customers do not have to pay return postage. BRM (Business Reply Mail) permits are available through the U.S. Postal Service. The basic cost is $160 per year. Then, you will be charged the actual first class postage plus 65 cents per piece for every piece of mail that is returned to you using your permit.

If you expect to receive more than 850 pieces during the year, there is another program where you can pay an additional $500 accounting fee, but the actual per mail charges are reduced to actual first class postage plus 11 cents. For more information about the business reply mail program, visit https://abrm-prod.usps.com/ABRM/landing.do or contact the U.S. Postal Service at (800) 275-8777.

Bulk mail and other discounted mailing programs The US Postal Service has a variety of discounted mailing programs, if you are willing to do pre-sorting or imprint barcodes. For basic letter size, you can reduce the postage to as low as 13.7 cents. For information, visit http://pe.usps.com/businessmail101/getstarted/bulkMail.htm or contact the U.S. Postal Service at (800) 275-8777.
